We LOVE a good renovation project!! 💪🪓 Transforming this weeping birch into its best self! 🌿✨ This project was all about restoring its natural beauty and health. We pruned out upright branches, thinned overcrowded areas, and removed leaf debris from the crown. The result? A stunning silhouette that’s ready to thrive. 🌞🌬️ Pruning like this not only enhances the tree’s graceful form but also boosts sun exposure and airflow, encouraging fresh growth. It’s a win-win for aesthetics and health! Swipe through to see the transformation in action. 🌳 #TreeCare #WeepingBirch #GardenLove #PruningForHealth #horticulture #garden #horticulturist #horticulturetherapy #getoutside   #gardendesign #healthyliving #gardenlovers #growingtogether  #inspiringspaces #beautifuldesigns   #healthygardensystems #relishgardens

🍁 Things to focus on during the month of September in Horticulture 🌻 Things can be pretty uncertain during the month of September as far as the weather goes. Some days may be hot and sunny ☀️ and the next day may be rainy and cold 🌧 Either way, gardening jobs that we focus on this month are all about putting your summer garden to rest 😴 and getting ready for the coming months! 🍃 This is for those of you who have lawns - rake it through with a wire rake to remove any buildup of moss and thatch. You can also dethatch the lawn with a dethatching rake. Aerating the soil will improve drainage for the wet months that are ahead. This is a great time to fertilize (we prefer to compost) and reseed your lawn! 💦 Waiting until the soil is moist from the first few rains is a great time to trim and mulch any hedges you may have on your property. This helps to conserve even moisture in the soil. 🌹 Plant your bulbs that will be popping up in the spring, such as allium, crocus, and daffodils. 💠 Order your winter plugs ahead of time. They will go fast on the market! These are plants such as cyclamen and primula. Plant them out when they arrive. Additionally, depending on your zone and how late your garden continues to thrive, you may still be cleaning up perennial plants, collecting seedheads from your favorite flowers and vegetable plants, and deadheading flowers! Tip Time! While pruning fading flowers off your plants (deadheading) bring them inside and stick them in a jar of water to continue enjoying them! OR hang them upside down to dry in a cool dry spot in your house/garage. Then arrange them in beautiful dried bouquets! September is a busy time in the garden, so make sure to schedule out your tasks in bite sized chunks that make it easier to manage! * Keep a lookout for a very special rollout we will be sharing soon for more information on how to make this happen! 😄 #horticulture #garden #horticulturist #horticulturetherapy #getoutside #gardendesign #healthyliving #gardenlovers #growingtogether #inspiringspaces #beautifuldesigns #healthygardensystems #relishgardens
